REST in Practice: Hypermedia and Systems Architecture

A REST experience…

In 2011, I was responsible for introducing the concepts of REST to some students of a posgraduate Software Engineering Course at http://www.cin.ufpe.br.

The result was the two following presentations, which parts of them were based on the high quality material gently provided, for educational purposes,  by Jim Webber, author of the book “REST In Practice”.

Presentations

  • REST in Practice – Part I (scribd
  • REST in Practice – Part II (scribd)

REST in Practice: The Book

If you want to build a REST system or would like to know if REST is an appropriate architectural style for your designs, then “REST In Practice: Hypermedia and Systems Architecture” – a book by Jim Webber, Savas Parastatidis and Ian S Robinson – is the right reference for you. It is a really useful introduction to REST.  I’ve read the book and recommend it. Try it too and have a “REST” experience… 😉
